Plan Your Future Job!

Have you ever wondered where money comes from? Right now, someone in your family probably earns it by working. One day, you’ll earn your own money with a job—how exciting is that? Jobs are super cool because there are so many kinds! Some people cook, deliver mail, or teach kids. Others might fight fires, fly planes, or even make the movies you love to watch. You could even start your own business, like a lemonade stand or a lawn-mowing service. Imagine being the boss! But how do you pick a job? Start by paying attention to what you love—your favorite school subjects, hobbies, or even cool things you see on TV. Some jobs need training or school, but others you can start right away. Kirby Christmas Eve Adventure

Kirby Story

Kirby the Kangaroo loved collecting shiny coins in his jar, saving up for a pogo stick. One day, his friend Sally visited.“Kirby, have you thought about investing?” Sally asked. “It’s a way to make your money grow even more!”

“What’s investing?” Kirby asked, curious.

Sally explained, “Saving is like putting your money in a jar or savings account. It’s safe, and your money grows a little, perfect for things you’ll need soon, like your pogo stick."

“But investing is like planting seeds. Over time, those seeds can grow into big, fruit-filled trees, but there’s a risk—sometimes, they don’t grow at all. Investing is best for big, long-term goals.”

Kirby thought about it and decided to try both. He kept some coins in his savings jar for his pogo stick and put the rest into the Kangaroo Investment Club’s “tree-growing” project.

A few months later, Kirby had saved enough for his pogo stick, and his investment seeds had grown into even more coins!

“Saving was great for my pogo stick,” Kirby said, bouncing happily. “And investing helped my money grow for the future!”

Sally smiled. “Exactly, Kirby! Now you’re ready to hop into your next adventure!”

And with that, Kirby learned how to balance saving and investing for big and small goals.
